About the Organisations

Meet the organisations that contributed to the development of the toolkit as part of the project:

Caritas Czech Republic

Caritas Czech Republic is the oldest non-profit organisation with a nationwide structure and the largest non-state provider of social and health services in the Czech Republic. Within the organisation, the Global Education and Awareness Raising department focuses on value-based education, volunteer management, non-formal learning, and youth participation. Its long-term aim is to support young people in becoming active and responsible citizens who understand global interdependencies and engage with social issues at both local and global level. Most of these activities have been developed under the Young Caritas movement.

Youth Organization STAN

STAN supports a cross-regional network of activists and promotes culture of human rights, inclusion and democratic values. The organization operates in an environment of high uncertainty, addressing the challenges of the ongoing war, recovery, and deep social transformation. STAN specifically works in communities all over Ukraine, empowering vulnerable groups such as youth, IDPs, LGBTK+, veterans, and other left-behind groups to move from being objects of aid to becoming subjects of political and social change.

STAN fosters leadership and critical thinking through non-formal education rooted in human rights, inclusion, and decolonization, while integrating MHPSS to restore individual agency and community resilience. By operating three physical resource centers as "powerspaces," the organization supports grassroots initiatives and individual activists, strengthening the participation of youth and vulnerable groups in local and national decision-making.

STAN facilitates peace dialogues to bridge social divides and promote reconciliation since 2019. Furthermore, STAN amplifies the voices of youth and vulnerable groups in local and national decision-making while actively decolonizing social and historical narratives about Ukraine on the global stage. These efforts are underpinned by a democratic management model and a robust MEAL system, ensuring institutional stability and ethical accountability to the communities served.
